Market engagement for the adults with sensory disabilities service at London Borough of Redbridge. The service comprises, but is not limited to, the following elements: — information, advice, guidance and signposting to help adults with sensory disabilities to make more informed choices, — assessments and rehabilitation therapy, — communication support, — awareness training sessions, — provision of a drop- in service 3 times per week, — promotion of the service availability across a range of agencies to encourage wider take-up of the Services and to encourage partnership working, — flexible, short-term and focused support for adults with sensory disabilities to develop, achieve and maintain their independence, — support planning with clear outcomes for the service user, — maintain an up to date database of service users with sensory disabilities. Further information regarding the service delivery and requirements can be obtained via www.londontenders.org The overall aim of the service is to provide inclusive and holistic support to service users with sensory disabilities helping them to maintain their quality of life and enhance their capacity to maintain their health and well-being through the provision of a range of person centred, coordinated and outcome focused services. The aims and objectives of the service in line with the national and local strategies are to: — provide accessible information and advice to adults with sensory disabilities, their families/carers, setting out the availability of appropriate services and entitlements, that promotes their health, well-being, independence and quality of life, — provide an assessment and rehabilitation therapy service for service users, — provide a communication support service for service users, — combat discrimination against individuals and groups with sensory disabilities and promote social inclusion, — service users to receive individualised support plans that are person-centred, and outcome focused, — provide the service in relation to social care and health issues which may also address housing, employment, volunteering, training, education or leisure related issues, — support and enable service users to participate in their local communities, including social and leisure activities, — provide an equitable service taking into account race, religion, language, disability, age, gender, sexuality and geographical location and encourage the uptake of the Service through a flexible and person-centred approach, — promote the service to encourage it’s take up from a broad spectrum of the community which reflects the cohort of people with sensory disabilities in Redbridge, — engage relevant guest speakers to provide information on a variety of topics relevant to the needs of those with sensory disabilities, — work in partnership with the statutory, voluntary/independent sectors, community organisations and faith groups to promote the service and maximise support for service users, — improve service user’s ability to maintain their independence after the support has been withdrawn or reduced towards increasing independence, — ensure that service users are involved in all aspects of the service including decision making, planning and reviewing services, staff recruitment, induction and training, and — recognise and respect service users in their own right.
