This Prior Information Notice (PIN) solely relates to early market engagement. The purpose of this market engagement is to seek market feedback in relation to a potential forthcoming procurement. Since 2015 the NHS England Clinical Decision Support Tool for Prior Approval has been rolled out nationally across Acute providers. It provides a live prior approval system to reduce administrative burden to the NHS and ensure treatment is funded for patients meeting the treatment criteria. Amongst the features of the operating model for the commissioning bodies is a single web-based registration system and an IT infrastructure which supports web-based access for all clinicians across the country. There are also common operating procedures and the ability to produce common reports around activity and expenditure. Lot 1: A national system that produces common reports. A single portal for provider clinicians to access multiple types of NHS commissioner funding. A tool which is flexible to meet the needs of both the national specialised commissioning audit, the financial management of the specialised commissioning budget and the wider needs for the Commercial Operations Team (part of the NHS England — Specialised Commissioning Directorate).
