Interested parties should review this document and respond to tenders@iaa.ie This PIN is a market sounding exercise to identify suppliers in the marketplace who can provide flight inspection services which meet the IAA’s requirements. Please be advised this is not a call for competition and IAA are not seeking tenders in this regard. The Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) is a semi-state body authorised by the Irish Government to regulate Air Navigation within Irish Airspace, and to provide, where appropriate, Air Navigation Services (ANS) and facilities such as Communication, Navigation, Surveillance and Air Traffic Management systems (CNS/ATM). The IAA’s Technical Services Division is responsible for the provision of Air Navigation Services, for maintaining ANS facilities to regulatory standards, and for ensuring that such facilities are certified to regulatory standards, through periodic flight inspection by an authorised Agency. The current flight inspection programme managed by the IAA, covers all En-route Aids, Terminal Approach Aids and Landing Aids. The IAA also acts as an agent for the coordination of flight inspection services to the Irish Air Corps (military). IAA requirements include: 1) Periodic, special and post-accident flight inspection services of the Radio Navigational Aids and associated promulgated procedures; 2) Flight check of the runway lighting system; 3) Ad hoc flight inspection services. The service provider will also be required to provide validation of flight procedures e.g. precision and non-precision approach procedures, Area Navigation (RNAV), Standard Instrument Departures (SID), and Standard Arrivals (STARS).
