Tender description

The New North Academy is a two-form entry primary school serving a diverse and exciting community in North London. We are one of 2 primary academies in the London Borough of Islington and seek to use our academy freedoms to best meet the needs of our community. This includes breaking away from the traditional catering contract offered by our current supplier. The main things we are seeking from a new catering contract includes: — a team of people who love food and are keen to share this passion with our children: recognizing the impact this has on their success each day and in their healthy futures, — meals that are tasty and wholesome: created with fresh, seasonal ingredients and not reliant on frozen produce, — being able to provide a varied menu: giving children options and encouraging them to try new things (Including celebrating cuisines as part of our multi-cultural school) Halal/non-halal meat options are a must. The school has 6 employees one of whom is a member of the LGPS. The procurement has 2 main stages. It is anticipated that no more than 3 contractors will be selected to attend the second stage of the process which follows submission of the tender document. Key dates are as follows: — school visits welcome: 8.7.2019 to 15.7.2019, — tender closing date: 23.8.2019, — supplier presentation day 6.9.2019, — contract commences 1.1.2020.
