Tender description
The Authority is looking to appoint a service provider(s) to deliver extra care services at 2 new settings in Lancashire: Lot 1: Oakbrook Gardens, Ingol, Preston, Lancashire. The scheme has 60 apartments; Lot 2: Lighthouse View, Fleetwood, Lancashire. This scheme has 72 apartments. Lot 1: Lot 1: Oakbrook Gardens, Preston Lot 1: Oakbrook Gardens is a new Extra Care scheme located in Ingol, Preston, Lancashire with 24 hour care services. The scheme has 60 apartments for people aged 55 and over. The service is the delivery of care and support within an extra care housing setting including: — onsite staff to provide background care and support and emergency response services. This service benefits all Service User (tenants) and is not allocated to any one individual, — planned care for service users who have chosen to have their assessed care needs met by the onsite provider. This will be funded via spot packages of commissioned care. New service users are due to move into the new scheme towards the end of December 2019, some will have care and support needs and these will be a differing levels. It is service user's choice which service provider they wish to receive their care and support from. The number of hours of planned care delivered by the onsite provider will need to be flexible depending on increases or reduction to the needs of the service users who chose to receive planned care from the onsite provider. There is no guarantee of the number of care and support hours that the service provider will be required to deliver through this contract. The service provider must ensure that there is adequate staff on site at all times to meet the requirements of the contract. At least 1 member of staff on site 24 hours per day and 7 days a week to provide background care and support, emergency response and planned care as required. It is an essential requirement that tenderers are registered with the CQC in England for the regulated activity of personal care. Please see Section 18 (care quality commission registration and rating) of this invitation to tender documents for more details of this essential requirements. The indicative annual value of Lot 1 will be in the order of 1 125 000 GBP. The initial contract term will be 2 years with the option to extend for any period(s) of up to a maximum of a further 2 years.
