Tender description

The commissioners seek a provider to offer high quality and safe Tier 3 Weight Management Service for circa 70 patients per annum. Provision of a Tier 3 weight management service: NHS South Yorkshire Procurement Service, acting on behalf of the NHS Rotherham Clinical Commissioning Group (the commissioners) are seeking a suitable provider for Tier 3 Weight Management Services in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. The purpose of the PIN is to engage the market and seek expressions of interest from potential providers to deliver the services. The commissioners seek a provider to offer high quality and safe Tier 3 Weight Management Service for circa 70 patients per annum. The successful bidder will be responsible for providing premises to deliver this service. The commissioners will be the contracting and commissioning authority for the NHS Standard Contract resultant from this procurement. The successful provider will need to demonstrate that they can deliver services of a continuously high-quality and will be responsive to the needs of the diverse local population. The provider will be assessed on an on-going basis to ensure they deliver the quality required. The provider will be expected to deliver a high quality Tier 3 multi-disciplinary Weight Management Services directly for patients with a BMI over >50, and following full weight management intervention via local authority services for patients with BMI over 35 who meet the pathway following assessment for Tier 3 intervention. The service must be provided by a GP with a Specialist Interest in Weight Management, Dietician, and psychological assessment input in excess of that provided by health trainers. There has been an NHS Standard contract in place delivering an initial pilot study and the commissioners will be seeking to procure services under the terms of an NHS Standard contract for 1 year, commencing from 1.10.2019. The total value for the Contract is 47 373 GBP over the contract duration of 1 year. Dependent upon the response to this PIN the Authority will determine if this requirement will form the basis of a competitive procurement process. Contracts may be awarded without further publication. If a competitive procurement is to take place the authority will simultaneously and in writing invite those organisations who have registered an interest to confirm their continuing interest. The information to be provided by NHS Rotherham CCG will include, but not be limited to the type of procurement process, the timescales, and the evaluation criteria for any future procurement process.
