Tender description

The works comprise external works at four villages in the Mid and East Antrim Borough Council area. At Ballygally, a range of street furniture is to be provided within the village. At Glenarm, bespoke curved granite seating is to be provided in an area of public open space together with picnic tables, litter bins, a timber pergola, feature paving, paths and grassing and planting works. At Gracehill, the project is the construction of a walking loop within the village. This will commence from an existing path at God’s Acre, the graveyard to Gracehill Moravian Church and extend through ground to the rear of Gracehill Primary School (transferred from the Education Authority), eventually returning to Church Road via a path to be constructed along the Widow’s Walk, an existing lane to the north of the school. Works include: removal of trees, trimming and facing of hedges and shrubbery, excavation, path construction (mainly basalt gravel surface but with some bitmac surfacing with retaining edging), fencing, culverts, and planting works. At Kells and Connor there are four distinct parts to the project: a) the refurbishment and extension of an existing children’s play area located at the Community Centre. This work includes site clearance, land drainage, provision of new play equipment, railings and gate, street furniture, paths, paving, wet pour safety surfacing, in-laid & thermoplastic graphics. b) the provision of a 30m zip-line as a stand-alone play item, with land drainage, loose fill safety surfacing, railings and in situ concrete mowing strip c) the removal of an existing hedge-line and trees along the frontage of the riverside park, Main Street, provision of topsoil, mild steel railings and gates with grassing and tree and shrub planting d) the provision of outdoor fitness equipment at a site within the grounds of the soccer pitch at Station Road, Kells.
