Tender description

The University is seeking to appoint a design team to take forward the design of the Adrian Building Fire Stopping Project from RIBA Stage 2 (Concept Design) through to completion (RIBA Stage 7). It is anticipated that the design team will include all the necessary technical services to deliver the project including administration of the construction contract. The supplier will also provide advice to the University on the procurement of a construction supplier during RIBA Stages 2 and 3. Due to the nature of the design services the University anticipates that a building services engineer will lead the design team. This procurement does not includes principal designer, project manager and quantity surveying services as these appointments will be made separately by the University. The Adrian Building Fire stopping Project is to review the current state of the active and passive fire safety systems in the building and make recommendations to bring the building in line with current fire safety regulations and University Policy. It is expected that the designers will then design and specify the agreed solution, procure and administer the construction contract. The scope of work is to include establishing the MEP systems’ condition and ventilation strategy. This includes the review of: — ventilation pressure regime, — ventilation controls, — MEP condition survey, — fire compartmentation and fire stopping.
