Tender description

Network Rail are looking to procure the services of an additional concrete sleepers supplier to improve security of supply should unforeseen circumstances arise. Two types of concrete sleepers are required: G44 and EG47, with the following split between them: 80 % of G44, and 20 % of EG47. This split may be subject to change during the course of the contract. The successful supplier will receive a one-off initial order in the volume of 200 000 concrete sleepers (that will cover a potential approval, moulds and set up costs), followed by an annual order of 50 000. Although this may increase to a range of 250 000 – 400 000 a year should unforeseen difficulty in supply arise. Additionally, tenderers will also need to have the ability to affix Undersleeper Pad’s (USP’s) to the concrete sleepers when required by Network Rail. Network Rail already has a contract with a supplier for USP’s. On request, USP’s will be issued to the successful supplier of this tender to cast to the concrete sleepers and test. This contract will be for 4 years with the option to extend for an additional 4 years (on a 1+1+1+1 basis).
