Tender description

The University of Bristol has a requirement for a custom photonic-integrated-circuit (PIC) capability that is optimised specifically for applications being carried out by the Quantum Engineering Technology Laboratories (QET-Labs). The requirements that differentiate the requirements of QETLabs from existing commercially available services are low loss waveguides, low loss inter-connections to fibre optics, and low power consumption passive tuning elements. Design and fabrication of diffraction based grating couplers with high efficiency. Design and fabrication of straight waveguide and waveguide bend structures with low loss. Design and fabrication of a phase shifter suitable for the tuning of a Mach-Zehnder interferometer arm.
