IP19012 - Resident Research: Strategic Statement and Medium Term Financial Plan

Kent County Council is developing its Strategic Statement and Medium Term Financial Plan and wants to engage residents at an early stage in a discussion to shape our future strategy, budget and spending priorities. The current Strategic Statement ‘Increasing Opportunities, Improving Outcomes’ is coming to a close in March 2020. We want to use deliberative workshops with a demographically representative mix of residents, to create ideas to inform our next Strategic Statement and Medium Term Financial Plan, and to ensure this has relevance and meaning to residents across Kent. We want to align our Strategic Statement and Medium Term Financial Plan. This will help inform our ideas about outcomes, spending priorities and inform our future budget development. We want this early resident engagement to focus on what is important for Kent’s resident’s quality of life, their relative priorities and what they value about how we work as a Council. We are seeking to commission high quality qualitative research to help us to develop a strategic vision which has clear objectives, which will resonate with what is important to our residents and develop an understanding about the relative priorities for our residents to enable us to better target our resources to where they will have the greatest impact.
