Tender description

Mid Essex CCG have made the decision to award Hertfordshire Partnership Foundation Trust (HPFT) a 2 year contract for Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) commencing 1.4.2020. There is currently a 1 year contractual extension in place that will expire on 31.3.2020. Once this extension has expired the 2 year award will commence, expiring 31.3.2022. There has been a significant focus on improving IAPT services for the Mid Essex population within the CCG over the past year. The backdrop for IAPT services is changing. National expectations are significant in terms of the increase in volume of patients expected to access the service and also the integration with primary care networks and long term condition pathways. To meet the changing provision required a different approach to working with the provider in collaboration, in designing the overseeing the implementation of a model that is fit for the future. To meet changing requirements the CCG and HPFT have invested significant resources to reflect new requirements, sharing risk between CCG and provider. The CCG is in year 1 of this process with HPFT and looking through this award to embed this model over a 3 year period enabling a stable platform from which to improve services for patients. The CCG has set up an integrated delivery team with the current provider, overseen by the Managing Director from HPFT and the chief strategy and transformation officer from the CCG to oversee and drive forward the changes required. The new model will maximize the digital offer and an integrated offer within long term conditions pathways. Targeting hard to reach groups through combined proactive marketing.
