Tender description

FS307021 - A critical review of microbiological colonisation of nano- and microplastics (NMPs) and their significance to the food chain. We would like to commission a critical review of the scientific evidence concerning the diversity of microorganism that colonise NMPs (including agglomerates), the key pathways that these microbiologically contaminated NMPs could enter the food chain from environmental sources (such as water, soil and air) and the risk these pose to the consumer. The review should also consider interesting traits such as AMR and virulence genes and the formation of biofilms and dysbiosis in environmental media (e.g. soil or sediment) and in organisms.
