Tender description

National Oceanography Centre is looking for a technical development partner to further develop their new generation of Marine Autonomous System (MAS) Platforms with a particular focus on new technology encompassing precise navigation, endurance and performance in extreme environments i.e. under ice and/or in excess of 5 000 m. National Marine Facilities (NMF) is focused on transferring robust, reliable MAS platforms into the National Marine Equipment Pool (NMEP) in support of UKRI NERC science. NOC is looking for a technical development partner to further develop their new generation of Marine Autonomous System (MAS) Platforms with a particular focus on new technology encompassing precise navigation, endurance and performance in extreme environments i.e. under ice and/or in excess of 5 000 m. NMF is focused on transferring robust, reliable MAS platforms into the NMEP in support of UKRI NERC science. A preferred development partner would: (a) bring particular expertise in underwater navigation and/or communications technology to the partnership; (b) have a demonstrable track-record of partnering with research organisations to deliver development projects involving multiple MAS platforms; (c) be prepared to commit resources to specific projects including at-sea trials; (d) share analysis of trials performance and thence contribute to further system optimization; (e) demonstrate how they would contribute towards the successful application for funding in particular Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund (ISCF) funding.
