Tender description

Market engagement for the Fit 4 Fun service at London Borough of Redbridge. The aim of the service is to achieve long-term increases in levels of physical activity in the Authority’s population, focusing on engaging those who were previously inactive (undertaking less than thirty (30) minutes of physical activity per week) in activities which are acceptable and accessible to them. The main objectives of the service are: to publicise and promote the service, provide group courses, provide opportunities for inactive residents, engage with GP’s, achieve high levels of continued attendance on group courses, signpost users and groups to other relevant services, and support groups to develop a plan for how they can continue to be physically active after the end of the course. The main requirements (but not exclusively) of the service are as follows: — provide support to service users wanting to do any form of physical activity, — provide practical support as necessary to enable access to physical activity opportunities, — empowering service users to improve their long-term physical health, well-being, and quality of life, — build the self-esteem, assertiveness and confidence of Service Users to enable informed choice and to overcome barriers to accessing leisure services, — work in partnership with other statutory and voluntary organisations including local BME agencies, — maintain records including the services requested, supplied and the outcomes achieved, — refer as appropriate to other organisations for further support where required, and — promote the Service to ensure increased awareness amongst the Authority’s residents.
