Tender description

Calderdale Council is seeking to procure a contract for the collection and/or receiving, keeping, treating and/or disposal of approximately 5 000-7 000 tonnes of street sweepings waste and gulley waste per annum. The waste will be bulked up at 3 sites throughout Calderdale, for collection by the successful contractor. The Authority also requires the option for the Authority to be able to deliver the waste to a delivery point provided by the successful contractor. Calderdale Council is seeking to procure a contract for the collection and/or receiving, keeping, treating and/or disposal of approximately 5 000-7 000 tonnes of street sweepings waste and gulley waste per annum. The waste will be bulked up at 3 sites throughout Calderdale, for collection by the successful contractor. The Authority also requires the option for the Authority to be able to deliver the waste to a delivery point provided by the successful contractor. The tonnage figures are for guidance only and may rise and fall in future years. It is the Authorities intention to comply as far as possible with the Waste Hierarchy. The Authority seeks to award the contract for a period of 4 years and 10 months commencing in 2019 and subject to satisfactory performance of the contract the option of extension up to a further 4 years through discussion and agreement with the successful contractor, however the Authority doesn’t bind itself to offering or agreeing any extension. Any Waste Treatment/Disposal facility offered to the Authority's must be an appropriately licensed facility in accordance with environmental permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 to receive this waste.
