Development of Student Assessment database

Tender description

The Music Office at Guildhall School of Music and Drama currently runs an Access Database – developed by the Head of Music Administration – to organise the Principal Study and Principal Study related assessments. Currently much of the work is done by hand which much of the data being copied into other databases and spreadsheets. The Music Office currently organises over 1700 individual solo assessments per year, this combined with other performance and written submissions leads to the assimilation and collating of over 15000 marks in an academic year. The database is required not only to plan these practical assessments, but also to keep track of all Extenuating Circumstances leading to extensions and deferrals of assessments, to plan defer and refer timetables and to track student status which may affect the assessment cycle. To provide an efficient method for organising over 175 assessment panels, including staff, professors and visiting external specialists We require development of the current Access database to streamline current database actions and functions.
