Tender description

The purpose of this procurement is to commission a Level 2 endodontic service in Ealing, Hounslow and Bromley which offers patients a consistent pathway in line with all the other London regions and to alleviate 18-week referral to treatment pressures in London secondary care (hospital) settings. Triaging arrangements for the new service will be via the London secondary care restorative providers, ensuring full consultant-led (Levels 3a/3b) oversight of the referrals process. The total budget available 981 000 GBP per annum. 981 000 GBP x 3 yrs = 2 943 000 GBP. The total with 1 yr extension = 3 924 000 GBP. Interested applicants wishing to participate in the procurement must register, express an interest by 12:00 noon — 11.7.2019. Failure to complete this important step will mean that you will not be able to submit a bid for this procurement. Bidders are required to complete the online questionnaires hosted on the portal prior to the deadline for submission of 12:00 noon — 12.7.2019. NHS England (London Region) intends to commission Level 2 restorative services (Endodontics) by utilising GDC registered specialists and accredited performers such as Dentists with special interests (DwSI) and Dentists with enhanced skills (DES) who undertake endodontics at the competency Level 2. The service will provide Level 2 endodontics for patients being referred by London Region General dental practitioners (GDPs) for patients residing in Ealing, Hounslow and Bromley. The service will work to a time-limited national personal dental services (PDS) agreement. The service will provide consistent, high quality care based on the quality assurance principles as set out in the PDS agreement (please refer to the service specification). Contracts will be awarded for an initial period of 3 years, with an optional extension for a further 1 year. Therefore, the maximum duration of this contract, if the extension option is taken up it will be 4 years. The contractual framework for the Level 2 endodontic service will be the national personal dental services (PDS) agreement. Please note the estimated value for this lot is the annual figure.
