This Notice is for Market Engagement Purposes only. Highways England is looking for an existing device which can measure the towing force needed to clear and tow away stricken vehicles from the road network to a designated place of safety. This device will need to be robust, easy to assemble and fully compatible with the tow bar, shackles and tow straps used by Highways England on their traffic officer vehicles. Any interested suppliers are invited to contact the Procurement Officer as specified within this notice for further information (and to obtain a more detailed product specification document) Trialling of suitable products may be required (to be provided free of charge) and on a non-commitment basis. This Notice is for Market Engagement Purposes only. Highways England is looking for a device which can measure the towing force needed to clear and tow away stricken vehicles from the road network to a designated place of safety. This device will need to be robust, easy to assemble and fully compatible with the tow bar, shackles and tow straps used by Highways England on their traffic officer vehicles. Product will need to be battery powered or have rechargeable facilities, IP64 rated and operate wirelessly. In addition the product needs to have a data recording facility which is fully supported and compatible with existing Highways England systems such as smart phones and tablets. If manufacturers within the market believe that they can currently provide such equipment to meet the basic requirements, please contact the Procurement Officer as designated within this notice.
