Targets for shooting practice

Tender description

Provision of a fit for purpose training ranges by replacement of the target and wireless control systems on 4 firearms ranges. Replacement of target systems and their controls on 4 ranges at one site to improve reliability and to provide 2 aspect target turns as opposed to the single aspect target turn currently available. All targets currently turn simultaneously. The solution should ensure all targets operate independently. Ranges accommodate between 3 and 100 metre shooting distances. 2 ranges have 12 targets, 1 range has 6 targets and 1 range has 4 targets. A generator provides electric power to run a compressor that moves the targets. 4 battery powered wireless devices (with limited programming capability) remotely signal the targets to turn. Improvements to one range and any preparatory work to all ranges will be undertaken in the first year of the contract 2019/20. The remaining works will be carried out over the next 2 years dependent on available budget.
