Tender description

Replacement of a footbridge over the River Ding near Broadway in South Somerset. The footbridge is on public footpath CH 2/3, in the Parish of Broadway. The bridge is constructed of 2 main steel beams, steel diagonal cross bracing and steel angular upright parapet supports. The bridge is clad in softwood timber including 2 bearers along the main beams, deck boards, two handrails on both sides of the bridge and step over stiles at both ends. The bridge sits on concrete pads and is held in place by poured concrete over the main beams. The southern pad includes 4 number sleeper steps set in concrete. The steels are painted black. The age of the bridge is unknown.
