The London Borough of Croydon invites suitable expressions of interest to Providers of Placements and Specialist Support Provider Engagement Meeting, Tuesday 25th June 2019: Morning session: 10.00– 12.00 / Afternoon session: 14.00 – 16.00 Venue: Central Croydon (a 15 minute walk from East Croydon Station) Croydon Council would like to invite you to attend a meeting of Placements and Specialist Support providers. The purpose of the meeting is to update you on some of the major changes that are taking place in the commissioning and procurement of our services and to ensure that your organisation receives clarification on how they will impact on what you do, the future contracting opportunities and how we do business together in the future. The meeting will include a briefing on the proposed introduction of a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS 2) for Placements and Specialist Support and consultation on the new Service Specification. You will have the opportunity to participate on the development of the new service specification for the following services: Lot 1: Residential accommodation for people without nursing Residential home providers who are registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for the regulated activity of accommodation for persons who require personal care and support. Lot 2: Residential accommodation for people with nursing Residential home providers who are registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for the regulated activity of accommodation for persons who requires personal care and support with nursing. Lot 3: Complex Enabling and Reabling Step Down Care: Community-based complex care provision for working age adults covering a range of specialist services. The treatment provision will provide a high standard of care in a structured setting and appropriate for people stepping down from hospital, providing respite care or avoiding an inappropriate admission to hospital or reducing the risk or readmission. The objective of these services will be to progress service users towards independent living, improved self-esteem, improved physical health and management of Long Term Conditions (LTC) and the reduction of risk-taking and behaviours that challenge and will work with statutory services to support the service users with transitioning to mainstream community care. The staffing mix of successful providers would include highly skilled practitioners who have specialist knowledge and experience in relevant disciplines such as mental health, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, personality disorders, substance misuse / alcohol abuse, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. The successful team should be able to manage people that exhibit behaviours that challenge, and have issues with substance misuse and/or may also have co-morbid physical health. It may include the management of people that are being case managed via the criminal justice system (probation services) and not on Ministry of Justice (MoJ) order. Lot 4: Hospital This Lot may include a specialist service for working age adults with complex and enduring needs who require a mental health act admission to hospital. The staff team will include a lead Consultant, who assumes clinical responsibility for the work being delivered by the integrated multi-disciplinary team including a range of expert knowledge covering; Psychiatry, Psychology, Medical Doctor, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy. The Council is not liable for any costs, fees or expenses incurred by any party participating in this exercise. Any procurement of any services, supplies or works by the Council in due course will be carried out strictly in accordance with the provisions in the UK and EU Procurement Regulations.
