The Walton Centre is unique - we are the only specialist hospital trust in the UK dedicated to providing comprehensive neurology, neurosurgery, spinal and pain management services. Our specialist staff offers a world-class service in diagnosing and treating injuries and illnesses affecting the brain, spine and peripheral nerves and muscles, and in supporting patients suffering from a wide range of long-term neurological conditions. We treat more than 100,000 patients a year. In September 2015, we were announced as a NHS Vanguard which gives us national support to develop our neurology and spinal services further. The Walton Centre has also achieved Investors in People Gold accreditation, recognising our commitment to our workforce of over 1,500 staff. The Walton Centre Charity funds a variety of projects at the hospital which help improve patient care and services. 1.7 This contract is for the upgrade and re-instatement of the Trust’s Fire Compartmentation in order to reflect alterations and works over the previous years. The aims and objectives are as follows: Ensure the protection of the Hospital’s fire evacuations routes and high risk areas Increase the safety of all patients, visitors and staff within the building Ensure that the Trust complies with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and other such statutory regulations and guidance documentation To comply with Estates and Facilities Alert DH/2014/003 To satisfy Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service of the Trust’s commitment to rectify compartmentation breaches following the recent Fire in the Outpatients Department in the Main Walton Building Keywords: minor works, fire Compartmentation, fire
