Natural Resources Wales (NRW) has been charged by the Welsh Government (WG) to help deliver the Natural Resources Policy 2017 Renewable Energy Targets through the development of renewable energy projects including large scale onshore wind within areas designated by WG on the NRW Managed Estate. The Energy Delivery Programme (EDP) is also charged with delivering the Small-Scale Hydro Programme and Business Opportunities Programme on the NRW Managed Estate together with other corporate energy and recreation portfolio initiatives under NRWs Enterprise Plan 2017 - 2022. Natural Resources Wales is engaging in new Business Opportunities such onshore windfarm energy/energy park type development, small scale renewable energy and recreation opportunities on the NRW Managed Estate in Wales. This service will provide expert advice on forestry matters as part of marketing and developing commercial opportunities on NRW land (e.g. commercial opportunities arising from the Enterprise Plan under the Energy Development and Recreation & Tourism portfolios). The Commercial Programme Management Team will determine when input is required. This service up to £110k value over 4 years will provide expert forestry advice. The successful Supplier will be able to demonstrate: • Extensive experience working in the forest sector (essential); • Experience working on the public-sector forest estate (desirable); • Professional forestry qualification such as BSc (Hons) For, MICFor or FICFor (essential).
