North Somerset Council is letting 2 separate contracts: — grounds and tree maintenance contract, — street cleansing contract. The contracts will start on 1.4.2020 and will be for an initial term of 7 years with the option of an extension, or extensions, up to a further 7 years (14 years maximum term). Bidders are able to apply for shortlisting to tender for either or both contracts. The contract value shown is based on the current budget level of 1 800 000 GBP which covers both contract areas. Of the 1 800 000 GBP approximately 40 % is attributable to those areas covered under the grounds and tree maintenance contract, and approximately 60 % to those areas covered under the street cleansing contract. All documents and the opportunity to bid for these contracts are available through the supplying the South West portal- https://www.supplyingthesouthwest.org.uk/ The grounds and tree maintenance contract covers the maintenance of approximately 1 100 landscape areas. The contract includes grass cutting, hedge and shrub bed maintenance, conservation management, play area inspections, minor infrastructure repairs and maintenance and an arboricultural service. The contract is structured as a resource based contract. The contract value shown is based on the current budget level of 1 800 000 GBP which covers both contract areas. Of the 1 800 000 GBP approximately 40 % is attributable to those areas covered under the grounds and tree maintenance contract. The street cleansing contract covers approximately 1 150 km of highways. Operations including street cleansing, beach cleansing, weed control and fly tipping operations. The contract structure is primarily Schedule of Works with some resource based provision. The contract value shown is based on the current budget level of 1 800 000 GBP which covers both contract areas. Of the 1 800 000 GBP approximately 60 % is attributable to those areas covered under the street cleansing contract.
