The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham (LBBD) during 2019 will be undertaking a tender exercise to establish a framework for the provision of home care services. Homecare (or ‘domiciliary care’) is a service provided to people in their homes to help them live their daily lives where they have need for care and support. Activities can include getting the service user up or helping them to bed, washing, dressing, meal preparation or prompting medication. The Council provides care and support in the home via 2 main routes, they are: — Direct Payments: where service users are provided with a sum of money to meet their assessed care needs and are given the control to purchase their own support services, — Managed Personal Budgets: where the Council arranges and pays for the care and support the service user requires to meet there needs. It is home care services delivered via managed personal budgets which the Council is seeking to undertake a tender exercise to establish a framework of providers. The Council invites suitably qualified service providers to attend a market engagement event which will be held between 10:00 a.m. and 13:00 p.m. on Friday 14.6.2019 at Barking Town Hall Barking IG11 7LU in the Council Chamber. The Council is not liable for any costs, fees or expenses incurred by any party participating in this exercise. Any procurement of any services, supplies or works by the Council in due course will be carried out strictly in accordance with the provisions in the UK and EU Procurement Regulations.
