Summary of the work A user researcher is required to capture and baseline requirements by identifying and researching user needs, benchmarking and presenting these finding which shows examples of user stories with clear acceptance criteria in a comprehensive report. Specialist role User researcher Expected Contract Length 6 months (with option to extend) Latest start date Monday 8 July 2019 Maximum Day Rate £400 to £600 Who Speclialist Work With IT Dept What Specialists Work On Initial fast paced analysis of user requirements (10-15 days) Plan, design and analyse research and usability testing Generate user Persona and use scenarios Conduct heuristic evaluations Identify user requirements; help define project approach and user experience strategy Set conceptual design and suggest product direction based on field research and functional requirements Define user interaction model workflows Refine the interactive experience produce designs consistent with the DCMS identity Develop prototypes ranging from concepts to wireframes to high fidelity designs that represent the visual identity and interaction model required to ensure user success. Facilitate project communications through all phases of the lifecycle. Skills & Experience • Extensive experience of user journey mappings • Test hypotheses and generate specific kinds of insights into user behaviour and needs • Extensive experience of planning, and conducting user research programmes • Ability to analyse and develop actionable recommendations from user research • Working closely with design teams to incorporate user research findings into the design • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written • Manage effective engagement with all relevant stakeholders • Experience of working within an Agile framework • Degree in HCI/Usability/Cognitive Psychology or related field Nice to Haves • 1 years experience of user research within Government • 5 years experience as a user researcher Work Location DCMS, 100 Parliament Street, SW1A 2BQ Working Arrangments On-site for face to face meetings as required. Security Clearance Minimum of BPSS / DBS clearance. Is this role inside/outside IR35 ? This is a discreet project to help support the delivery of cloud platform service to DCMS and all tax queries are the reponsiblity of the named sponsor. 2. Is there a current incumbent? No. 3. Is this for a specific project or across multiple? Could you give a description of the project/s, please? These are generic in nature and across DCMS. 4. You mention – On-site for face to face meetings as required. Would you allow working from home? The engagement is to conduct 1-2-1 meetings on site. Analysis can be undertaken off-site if required. Commitment is required to deliver specific work packages .
