Summary of the work Provide data analysis expertise into the 111 online programme, working within the NHS Digital legal directions at all times. The work will consist of data portal refinement, CCG queries, product team queries, exec level queries, creation of KPI and benefit management dashboards and support to user research analytics. Specialist role Business analyst Expected Contract Length 12 months Latest start date Sunday 30 June 2019 Maximum Day Rate £550.00 Who Speclialist Work With Internal and external stakeholders What Specialists Work On To conduct the analysis of the different layers of data available in relation to the 111 online product. These include data from both user surveys and user research, aggregated live data, aggregated 111 telephone data to be used for comparisons, associated published datasets linked and data on implementation progress. The main deliverable will be the production and maintenance of data portals, dashboards, the documentation of dashboard formulas and a regular summary of findings and recommendations. Skills & Experience • Coding of analytical algorithms to support ad hoc data requirements, ensuring a valid use case is available and the request meets all legal directives for data usage • Demonstrable experience of working within a fast-paced environment, in an analyst or data scientist role; conducting and interpreting complex analysis and reconciling conflicting information; investigating and resolving data quality issues • Problem solving in novel areas, excellent written and verbal communications skills, experience of producing reports and presentations for both specialist and non-technical audiences • Advanced knowledge and experience of statistical analysis and competent use of SQL and of MS-Excel data analysis features with excellent planning skills and ability to work with conflicting priorities • Experience of working in the health sector and specifically of working with UEC data • Experience with a variety of professional data analysis tools including Power Bi and Tableau Work Location Skipton House, 80 London Road, Elephant & Castle, London SE1 6LH Working Arrangments Some travel might be required for visits to other sites, e.g. Southampton. - Provision for remote working. Only approved expenses supported by valid receipts in line with NHS Digital Travel policy will be paid. Expenses will not be paid to and from the base office in London. - Expenses are capped to a maximum of 5% of the contract value. The role is outside of IR35. Can you elaborate further on the key technical skills required in this role? As a data analyst, the strength of experience with Power Bi, Tableau, with SQL, SSIS and with Word, PowerPoint and Excel will be used as an essential measure for the supplier's capability to produce the outcomes which are required. 2. Please can you advise if this role is outside IR35 and also if there is an incumbent? Outside IR35. The 111 online programme has data analytical resource within the team. 3. How many days would you allow home working? We are very flexible in this aspect. 4. The spec asks that they candidate demonstrate algorithm writing ability, will there be a test at interview and will this be on SQL and Excel? Good example driven-responses will be used as measure for evaluation. 5. How much of the role is technical script writing and how much is management of project and stakeholders. ? 75% to 25% 6. Is the start date correct? It is a Sunday – is this not a Monday-Friday type role? The start date will be on the agreed date at time of contract award - working week Monday to Friday. 7. Does the essential skill "Experience of working in the health sector and specifically of working with UEC data" indeed exclude any candidate who has not previously worked on UEC data, or hasn't worked in the health sector? Good example driven-responses will be used as measure for evaluation.
