Gas supply mains construction work

Tender description

Firmus energy is currently undergoing the construction of a predominantly polyethylene medium pressure (4 bar) and low pressure (75mbar) gas network and associated domestic and industrial and commercial connections to natural gas within a number of townlands in Northern Ireland including Derry/Londonderry, Limavady, Coleraine, Ballmoney, Ballymena, Antrim, Craigavon (including Lurgan and Portadown), Armagh, Banbridge and Newry. Against this background, firmus energy will shortly be inviting tenders for works across its development area in Northern Ireland, to include: polyethylene main laying (c. 200 km per annum) and service laying (c. 6 000 services per annum); emergency response services (responding to c.3500 Public Reported Escapes per annum); network maintenance and materials logistics. Firmus energy will shortly be undertaking a procurement exercise (in accordance with the negotiated process). This notice is intended only to provide advance notice of that opportunity to interested contractors. A separate contract notice will be published and tender documents made available for those wishing to participate to express an interest and complete as appropriate. Interested contractors are not therefore required to express an interest at this stage or notify firmus energy of their intention to participate. It is anticipated that the contract notice and related tender documents will be published in June 2019.
