The International Guns, Missiles and Rockets Team, part of the UK Ministry of Defence intends to award a contract of up to 12 years to Babcock Marine for contracting for availability services for the Phalanx — Close in Weapons Systems (CIWS). The International Guns, Missiles and Rockets Team, part of the UK Ministry of Defence intends to award a contract of up to 12 years to Babcock Marine for contracting for availability services for the Phalanx — Close in Weapons Systems (CIWS). The contractor shall provide all support activities for the weapon system, including but not limited to: Project management, meetings and reports, logistics management, technical support, design authority activities, compliance with all International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), quality management, obsolescence management, health checks, management of safety and environmental cases, documentation management, software control and assurance, provision of availability, reliability and maintainability (AR&M) data and configuration control, planned overhauls, upgrade and maintenance, modifications, capability sustainment and test facilities and equipment.
