National / International Theatre Practitioner

Tender description

The Theatre & Peacebuilding Academy based at the Playhouse Derry-Londonderry Northern Ireland is seeking to appoint two Resident National / International Socially Engaged Theatre Practitioners who will each deliver a 1 x 3-week scoping (research & development) study and 1 x 6 month (minimum) residency which culminates in a multi-media theatre performance involving a minimum of seven community participants. The Playhouse in partnership with Holywell Trust, Thomas D’Arcy McGee Foundation and Queens University Belfast received significant funding from the EU Peace IV to deliver the Theatre and Peacebuilding Academy starting January 2018 – June 2020. The 2.5-year project will be delivered in locations throughout Northern Ireland and the Border Counties. The Theatre Peace Building Academy draws from this previous work and will programme national / international theatre artists with significant experience of using arts activity in areas of conflict & post conflict to promote healing and reconciliation.
