Tender description

The London Borough of Newham wishes to re-procure its Accommodation Based Women’s Refuge We expect our re procurement activity to take place from early 2019, with the new contract commencing September 2019 The proposed service offer will provide a safe haven for women and any accompanying children who are fleeing domestic and/or sexual violence. The service will aim to provide: — a survivor focussed model of support, — prompt and targeted support within a safe women-only environment that reduces risk and increases resilience, — the addressing of the immediate and longer term physical, sexual and mental health needs of service users, — move-on of individuals onto appropriate accommodation as soon as it is safe to do so, — development of an individual’s independent living skills, to enable them to positively maintain a tenancy and live independently, — signposting to specialist services when necessary, and develop wider support networks that will enable each individual to reduce their reliance on the service, — support and advocacy for women to report violence to the Police and have access to appropriate legal and financial advice, — assessment of the practical and emotional support needs of residents to ensure appropriate evidence based interventions in the form of one to one support, group work and peer to peer support. Support should be a mixture of onsite support and referral and advocacy to specialist providers.
