Tender description

High Peak Borough Council wish to invite proposals from suitable operators in the catering and hospitality industry to provide hospitality, catering and events services under the form of a concession contract for the Pavilion Gardens visitor attraction situated in Buxton Derbyshire. The Pavilion Gardens is an excellent historic venue situated in the heart of the spa town, providing a visitor attraction for catering and events to the local community, visitors and tourists to the town. The Pavilion Gardens is nestled within 23 acres of award winning beautiful gardens, the building itself is a gradeII listed building first opened in 1871 with the iconic Octagon Hall being added and later opened in 1875. The attraction offers a high quality dining experience through the Pavilion Café, and for less formal dining through the Coffee Bar and Art Café. Events at the Pavilion Gardens include supporting the annual famous Buxton Fringe festival, weddings, corporate events and regular fairs. High Peak Borough Council wish to appoint under a concession contract arrangement an experienced and successful operator to deliver a vibrant, high quality and attractive facility for residents and visitors, which enhances the reputation of the council and to maintain a compliant operation, adhering to required legislation for food standards and health and safety. The council's key principles for the operation against the corporate plan objectives are to: — promote a value for money experience for visitors, ensuring variety and affordability are at the heart of the operation, — identify and make “best use” of the complex, maximising on income generation opportunities and offering atop choice venue for the town, — provide a high standard food service, offering fresh and sustainable produce, — ensure that the facilities and activities are available to all, emphasising on equalities, accessibility and initiatives to engage and support the diverse population, including being recognised as a dementia friendly arts venue, — top choice venue serving both local residents and the wider visitor economy which derives from the Manchester, stockport, Sheffield and Stoke urban conurbations, Derbyshire and the Cheshire plain. High Peak Borough Council wish to invite innovation from market operators to enhance and promote the tourist attraction to become a top destination in this region which is self-sustaining and a valued asset for the local community and visitors alike.
