What is the budget for this task? We have flexibility on the budget. We want to know your day rates. The total budget will depend upon what we agree with the successful supplier as regards number of participants, travel and required days. 2. Does the supplier's maximum day rate need to include costs associated with travel and with recruiting research participants, or will a separate budget be available for this? No. Please don't include project costs such as travel and participant incentives. 3. Can you please confirm daily rate? We would like suppliers to tell us their daily rates. 4. What is the IR35 status? Running the test on the HMRC website (https://www.gov.uk/guidance/check-employment-status-for-tax) and assuming the selected supplier is trading as a ltd company, the advice we have received is that IR35 does not apply to this engagement. If the selected supplier is a sole trader the advice is that "This engagement should be classed as self-employed for tax purposes". 5. Are you open to a supplier delivering the services you need via a team (with a single point of contact) rather than a single individual? This will allow input from specialists with different experience and skill sets. We can offer a flat day rate across roles if that is helpful. Assuming this approach still met our expectations on cost, then we can still consider it. A flat day rate would probably be necessary to allow a fair comparison with other suppliers.
