The Provision of Inspection Of Metallic Pipework • The contractor will take receipt of the pipe samples. • The pipe samples will have been 'hard stamped' with the pipe ID, the datum used for the blind trials, and the extent of the repair prior to removal. • Employing the same datum as a reference, the contractor will then use the most appropriate technique (likely to be c-scan in the majority of cases but perhaps extending to dye penetrant for external crack-like defects and external laser scanning, as appropriate) to locate and size defects in the (formerly) wrapped area. • The specific choice of inspection method/s will be at the discretion of the contractor.
