The N72 Killorglin Approach (Dromavally to Anglont) Road Improvement Project

Tender description

The project comprises the rehabilitation of the existing pavement and the provision of a new 3.0m wide shared-use cycle/pedestrian facility on the north side of the road. The improved road will consist of 3m wide lanes with 0.5m wide hard strips in each direction. It is proposed to provide the cycle/pedestrian facility directly adjacent to the existing road, without separation, between Ch 0 and Ch 600m. A 1.5m grass verge is proposed to separate the cycle/pedestrian facility from the road between Ch 600m and Ch 2,630m. The project includes a national road junction, a local road junction and numerous private accesses. Due to the varied topography of the site, significant cut slopes and/or retaining structures will be required. The project will also include site clearance, earthworks, drainage, pavement, fencing, signs & lining, safety barrier, accommodation works and other elements necessary for the successful construction and completion of a road project.
