London Borough of Newham invites tenders for a shared lives service which will provide support and accommodation for people with mental health, learning disability and other eligible social care needs. The proposed new contract will commence for 5 (2 + 3) years starting from 20.12.2019. London Borough of Newham invites tenders for the provision of the shared lives service which is an adult “fostering placement” service for people with eligible social care needs including mental health, physical disability, learning disability, cognitive impairment, sensory and other conditions. Shared lives can provide both long term and short term respite placements, in the shared lives carers own home. The nature of the service is that an adult with care needs is matched with a shared lives carer who provides the care and support needed including sharing their home, family and community life. The provider will recruit train, approve carers and manage shared lives arrangements. The provision of high quality care, support and accommodation for adults is fundamental to the Authority’s delivery of statutory duties within the care act, of which the core principle is meeting the needs of individuals, and the promotion of their wellbeing.
