Tender description

North Lincolnshire Council is seeking to establish a framework arrangement with a number of suitably qualified and experienced Contractors to provide a range of “Grounds Maintenance” solutions for a wide range of pre-programmed, ad-hoc and emergency situations throughout the North Lincolnshire area. Grass cutting of highway verges, visibility splays and rural footpaths within North Lincolnshire Area. To include approximately 1 180 km of roadside verges, 132 km of rural footpaths, 75,81 hectares of visibility splays, 10,9 hectares of Amenity Low, 1,75 hectares of special designated areas and 5,6 hectares of verge nature reserves. Frequency: — classified and unclassified roads: twice per season, — visibility splays on classified, unclassed roads and rural footpaths: 3 times per season, — special designated areas: as instructed, — amenity low grass cutting: twice per season, — verge nature reserves: once per season. High speed dual carriageways, visibility splays and junctions to be cut under formal traffic management conditions (e.g. lane closures) to include: A15 North: Between junction 5 M180 and the Humber Bridge, (approximately 60 km of roadside verges, central reserves, slip lanes, strimming to fences/Armco barriers and 0,967 hectares of visibility splays). A18 Mortal Ash Hill (Briggate Lodge roundabout to A1029/A18 roundabout – approx. 13,2 km) A1077 NW orbital from M181/A18 roundabout to A1077/B1430 roundabout (approx. 7,2 km) Major junctions, roundabouts and verges (approximately 4,49 hectares) The specification also includes for litter picking and weed spraying. Any extra over works requested will be at rates agreed in advance between client and contractor but will be assumed to be at the relevant pro-rata rate where applicable. Frequency: — verges and central reservation: twice per season, — visibility splays: twice per season, — A15 South: once per season, — A18 Mortal Ash Hill: twice per season, — other junctions (see specification): twice per season. High Amenity roadside cutting within towns/villages (excepting Scunthorpe urban area) and High Amenity cutting within the grounds of Normanby Hall. Approx 9 cuts per season (April — October) May also include Medium and Low frequency grass cutting, general grounds maintenance to shrub beds, planted areas, trees/hedges and ad-hoc Public Rights of Way grass cutting. Provide highway weed control to kerbs, channels and hard surfaced areas within the urban environment. This arrangement applies to areas of adopted highway within towns and villages of North Lincolnshire, as identified within the accompanying schedules. Owing to the limitations associated with chemical only weed control programme we will be looking to work with the provider to help deliver an “inclusive” weed control service to help manage/eradicate weed growth in highway channels, flagged footways, rear of footpaths, etc.
