Tender description
Orkney Islands Council invites tenders from suitably qualified and experienced contractors for the provision of a cruise ship welcome and information services to arriving cruise ship passengers and crew. The services are to be provided for 48 months. Orkney now attracts on average 150 cruise ships per annum, with the number of port calls for the 2019 season not expected to exceed 160; this translates to approximately 140 000 passengers and 40 000 crew members; the industry is one to be nurtured and developed in order for Orkney to remain the United Kingdom’s most popular cruise destination. For the duration of the contract, it is expected that these statistics would be maintained or increased.
