Tender description
Platelet storage equipment is used to store platelet components under agitation at a controlled temperature of 20oC to 24oC within Authority premises. The devices currently used are Helmer and will require maintenance over the duration of the agreement. The authority invited tender responses for the maintenance of the existing Helmer PSE over a period of 4 years, from the commencement date, with the option to extend for a further 4-year period. NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) and Participating Authorities use PSE to store platelet components under agitation at a controlled temperature of 20oC to 24oC within Authority premises. These devices require maintenance, full details of requirements were provided in the technical specification.
