Tender description

The Medicines Discovery Institute is finalising the setup of its new drug discovery laboratories to build on the exciting advances in their understanding of disease mechanisms emerging from Cardiff’s wider scientific community. As part of this final setup, the MDI is expanding its target validation laboratories to expand its high quality research, bridging the gap between the emerging, disease mechanism-related science and the MDI drug discovery pipeline. The equipment has been split into 14 lots: Liquid chromatography system including instrument. Crystallisation robot including instrument and software. Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) instrument. MicroScale Thermophoresis (MST) instrument. Automated liquid handling robot. Liquid handling system for PCR setup. Automated pipetting system for tissue culture. Automated high-throughput cell-based fluorescence and luminescence screening system. Multi-modal fluorescence, luminescence and UV-Vis absorbance plate reader. Automated electrophoresis instrument. High content cellular imaging system. Automated high-definition, fluorescence live-cell analysis system. Microelectrode array system. Ultra high performance liquid chromatography — Triple quad mass spectrophotometer system.
