Tender description

Provision of mental health services for the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and NHS Tower Hamlets Clinical Commissioning Group that aim to improve outcomes for individuals with mental health problems by supporting people into work, vocation, learning, social inclusion and personal development activities according to personal well-being goals. The services aim to: 1) Increased understanding about local resources that support mental health, wellbeing and recovery for all stakeholders including service users, carers, clinical professionals and colleagues who work in other information, advice and guidance services; 2) Increased access and connection to the correct community, health or social care resources; 3) Increased economic wellbeing through enabling access to the correct welfare benefits; 4) Decreased social isolation through the provision of a community “place of safety” for people within all stages of recovery which offers opportunities to increase support networks and community inclusion through offering a drop in service and access to a constant programme of activities; 5) Improved support for those in the first stages of crisis through delivery of sympathetic listening and practical advice. The service provision aims to: 1) Improve the wellbeing and recovery of people whose debilitating levels of mental health problems prevent them from easily accessing community resources; 2) Increase levels of social inclusion and access to wider services; 3) Increase the opportunity to benefit from support from peer workers; 4) Enable people to set and meet personal recovery goals; 5) Improve physical health. The service aims to: 1) Improved levels of self-management. The service will support people to understand their problems and learn how to manage these in pursuit of their individual recovery goals; 2) The service will improve access to mainstream learning and training opportunities in the community by acting as a conduit towards them rather than a segregated resource; 3) Reduction of self-stigma and transformation of attitudes more broadly across the mental health systems; 4) Increased levels of peer roles and provision of leadership in the field of co-production through delivery of a model of co-facilitation and co-learning. The service aims to: 1) Increase the number of people with mental health problems in employment in Tower Hamlets; 2) Increase choice and control through increasing variety of routes to employment; 3) Increased the number of people with mental health problems accessing a range of work based opportunities available in the community; 4) Increase the ability of borough employers to support their employees with mental health problems and retain them in the workforce; 5) Increased numbers of people able to sustain employment despite mental health challenges; 6) Increased offer of universal employment services for the people with mental health problems.
