Tender description

JNCC is seeking a qualified ringer to assist with catching and tagging red-throated divers in Shetland this summer. During 2018, breeding red-throated divers were fitted with geolocator and time depth recorder tags. This summer, we wish to retrap tagged individuals to remove tags and potentially fit replacement tags. Information obtained from tags will improve our understanding of red-throated diver energetics, including proportion of time individuals spend foraging throughout the year. This will assist with evaluating the potential impact of offshore wind development in areas used by wintering red-throated divers.
