Tender description

The National Transport Authority is seeking to procure a trial of demand responsive transport services, using app based products to secure services and routing algorithms to match vehicles with capacity to users. Before it does so, the Authority wishes to discuss its intentions and assumptions with the market. Consequently the NTA wishes to invite interested parties to partake in this market consultation exercise. The information received in this consultation shall enable the NTA to make an informed decision on its requirements for such a trial, should the Authority decide to proceed with any further procurement. The NTA is currently planning to run 2 trials of DRT in Ireland in 2 different settings: — a suburban area of Dublin that would benefit from DRT services, — use of DRT technology to enhance an existing DRT system, such as Local Link. The NTA is expected to commence the process to tender for a trial supplier(s) during the summer 2019.
