Aneurin Bevan University Health Board will be holding a pre-market engagement session in relation to a potential procurement exercise for the provision of a crisis house service. The purpose of the event is to inform potential interested providers of the proposed service and to also engage with these providers in seeking initial meaningful input into the proposed service. As such the health board is keen to seek attendance at the event from providers who are experienced and capable of delivering such a service. The event will be held as follows: 15.5.2019 Room 8 The Power Station Blenheim Road St Dials Cwmbran NP44 4SY Outline agenda as follows: 9:15: arrive teas and coffee, etc. 9:45: presentation from health board lead including background, overview of the requirement (i.e. outline of services required, likely timescales) and next steps. 10:15: open Q and A session 10:45 – 11:15: opportunity for networking 11:30 – 16:00: one to one sessions Aneurin Bevan University Health Board will be holding a pre-market engagement session in relation to a potential procurement exercise for the provision of a crisis house service. The purpose of the crisis house is to provide a high quality support service for Gwent people who are experiencing a mental health crisis in a homely and supportive environment, using a social model of recovery. It will offer an alternative to hospital inpatient admission and may also be used as a step-down service following an inpatient admission. The crisis house service will offer a holistic approach to adults (18 and over) who are Gwent residents with an emphasis on building resilience and long term recovery as well as allowing social issues to be addressed as part of a care plan. It will address the immediate crisis but also focus on ongoing recovery, building support networks and maintenance of good mental health on returning home. The crisis house will provide short term (maximum 14 days) crisis accommodation, as an alternative to hospital admission, for adult clients in acute mental health crisis, including adults with a mild learning disability. The crisis house will be staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and will accommodate up to a maximum of 6 people at a time, staying for up to 2 weeks, the expectation is a typical length of stay will be 7 days. The crisis house will need to be located in a residential area with good public transport links and convenient access to community resources, for example leisure center, library, social groups, GP, pharmacy and relevant third sector services. The benefits of addressing the wider health and social care issues as well as the mental health issues include fewer mental health crises, early intervention and improved integration back into community. The event will consist of a presentation from the health board outlining the requirement followed by an open forum question and answer session on attendees thoughts and feedback from the presentation. There will then be an opportunity for attendees to have a 15 minute one to one session with the health board, the aim of the sessions are to discuss with potential providers any initial thoughts, suggestions etc. in relation to the proposed service. As such the health board is keen to hold one to one sessions with those providers who are knowledgeable within this service area and is welcoming input from organisations on how best they believe that the service can be delivered in order to meet the needs.
