Tender description

See Attachments for full description. The Social Mobility Commission is inviting proposals for research to better understand the incidence of downward mobility in Great Britain. This will seek to build upon previous work on downward mobility in Great Britain, particularly around the 2015 report by the Social Mobility Commission, "Downward mobility, opportunity hoarding and the 'glass floor'", and work on downward mobility by Sam Friedman, a Social Mobility Commission commissioner. It will look at understanding our society's 'fear of falling' and what occupations those from higher socio-economic backgrounds do when they 'fall down' the ladder. This research forms part of the Social Mobility Commission's role to produce relevant research that provides new data and insights on social mobility in the UK.
