In November 2016 Iarnrod Eireann established a multi party Framework Agreement for the supply of signalling and telecoms cable. The Framework Agreement includes 3 lots: 1) Signalling cable; 2) Fibre optic cable (singlemode and multimode); 3) Telecommunications copper cable. While the term of the agreement was expected to be 4 years, the anticipated volumes have been greater than anticipated and are likely to rise with the projected capital investment over the coming years. It has therefore been decided to renew this agreement earlier than originally anticipated and a new process is underway ref. Contract Notice 2019/S 033-075439.
