Tender description

Fife Council intends to enter into a contract for the supply, installation and maintenance of “A” rated Windows, Communal Entrance Doors and Curtain Walling and the recycling of all removed materials. A key objective of Fife Council is to meet the growing needs and demands being made on our services with an ever-reducing budget, by providing best value with an effective service for the provision of the abovementioned requirement. It is envisaged that the appointed service provider, will support the objective to improve and maintain a wide range of properties within the Fife Council portfolio, which includes a 30 000 housing stock plus the property portfolio of schools, estates and public buildings. To provide a service whereby a contractor shall undertake the provision of supply, installation and maintenance of “A” rated, lead free PVCu windows and doors; aluminium windows; doors and curtain walling systems; communal entrance doors, timber aluminium composite windows, doors and curtain walling systems. During the term of the contract, the service provider will be responsible for providing design support for aluminium window systems, as well as providing stock survey information and condition priority installation programmes for housing and public buildings window replacement. These functions are fundamental for Fife Council plans, spending profiles, innovation, research and development and value engineering at design stage. There will be responsibility for the maintenance of all windows, doors and curtain walling systems, as well as responsibility for the recycling of all extracted windows, doors and curtain walling in compliance with SEPA regulations. All works to be carried out with strict adherence to all current health and safety regulations. The approximate spend on the supply, installation and recycling contract will be 7 500 000 GBP per year. Additional document: standard mandatory certification requirements for contractors.
