Tender description

Hampshire County Council is releasing this Prior Information Notice (PIN) to advise the market of intentions to put in place a provision for its translation, transcription and interpretation requirements. This PIN is also to gauge market interest and initiate engagement and dialogue between Hampshire County Council and parties interested in providing services. The engagement could involve questionnaires, supplier days and possibly one-to-one meetings. Currently services are provided under the County Council’s internal contract standing orders but increased demand across the Council constitutes a new model approach is required. The current requirements are for translation, transcription and interpretation but are likely to include sign language and voice-over services to be delivered in and around Hampshire. It may be necessary for the services to be provided in areas outside of Hampshire in cases such as, but not limited to: unaccompanied asylum seeking children and refugee families placed outside of Hampshire; or to support investigations for Hampshire County Council’s Trading Standards; or to support the services of the Senior Coroner of Hampshire. The solution must be of high quality, cost effective and efficient, with some demand outside of office hours and at short notice. Hampshire County Council is inviting interest from appropriate providers, including national and local companies or individuals or organisations/individuals working as part of a consortium. However, there will need to be a named lead company or organisation (i.e. single point of contact) for coordination, administration, mobilisation and monitoring purposes.
