Tender description

The supply of 100 off — 27kV, 630A, 12.5kA RL27 enclosed disconnectors, supplied complete with ADVC3 advanced controllers capable of providing remote control, automation and smart grid applications. We intend to source these units from Schneider Electric Ltd. The intention of this VEAT is to provide 100 enclosed disconnectors for use in a trial operated across both licence areas, whereby we would install the disconnectors in differing automation scenarios. These units differ from our existing range of remote control PMAR’s (Pole Mounted Auto Reclosers) in that they are fully rated disconnectors rather than CB's (circuit breaker) and as such can be used to provide a point of Isolation on our HV Network. Whilst it is acknowledged that there are other suppliers in the market place that could provide enclosed disconnectors with similar functionality, none of the other units could be deployed onto our network without the need for extensive development works to integrate the associated control cabinets and RTU’s with our operational management system. Following completion of the trial, Northern Powergrid intends to issue a tender for a bulk contract.
